The mineral water in Smrdáky is one of the sources with the highest hydrogen sulphide content in Europe (680 mg/l), while the total mineral content reaches up to 3400 mg/l.

At Smrdaky, every patient must undergo a medical examination on arrival. This is to determine the exact diagnosis, establish a treatment plan and prescribe treatment procedures.
As of today, Smrdaky offers 60 different treatment procedures.
After the first medical examination, the doctor will draw up an individual treatment plan that takes into account the patient’s specific problems. During the treatment, the effect and the patient’s medical condition are regularly checked by a doctor.
The recommended length of the treatment stay is 2-4 weeks. The aim is to heal skin rashes, reduce movement difficulties and achieve a long-term effect, i.e. a period without symptoms of the disease (6-9 months).
It is also important to achieve a sense of active health and increase mental and physical well-being, which contributes to improving the patient’s quality of life.
The basic procedures are:
Individual mineral bath
The doctor determines the water temperature, the duration of the procedure and the concentration of hydrogen sulphide in the mineral bath. This is very different from patient to patient. It all depends on the patient’s condition. Mineral bath lasts 10-15 minutes and after that the patient is given a dry wrap. The patient should relax after the procedure.
Mud wrap
Healing mud is produced in Smrdaky spa. Its special consistency means that it retains heat, cools four times slower than water, and also warms the deep tissue layers of the body.
Mud temperature varies from 43° to 45°C.
Full or partial mud wraps reduce local swelling in the joints, reduce muscle tension, and improve the nutrition of cartilage, connective tissue and intervertebral discs. They strengthen anti-inflammatory processes in the body and the immune system.
